What Makes Moroccan Chicken Steak Distinctive?

Moroccan Style Chicken

If you are a fan of grilled meat when serving a Chicken Steak, you may meet the whole pepper corn or mushroom or barbecue sauce. But what we advocate for is Moroccan chicken steak. This is not your average skillet chicken, however, with a whole bunch of North African flair blended in smartly tied throughout bright spices to flavor and bright peppers right through the dish in supporting role to deliver a signature sauce finish.

That coupled with balmy summer evenings spent outside on the terrace listening to those crickets chirping away somewhere are why Moroccan chicken steak is not like other steaks and why it needs to be on your plate for supper now.

A spice mixture of Ras El Hanout, Horissa & Chilli paste

Ingredients

The base chicken steaks tend to be salty and simply contain garlic, salt and black pepper, olive oil as a marinade. On the flip side, Moroccan chicken steak resonates its identity because of multi-layered North African spice blends.

Ras El Hanout is a blend of several spices that can include at least cardamom, cumin, clove and cinnamon as well as nutmeg or turmeric and paprika from time to time. You get depth of flavor and plenty of earthiness and aroma, not just salt.

Why Is Moroccan Chicken Steak Different from Traditional Chicken Steak?

They are almost savory / umami for European-style chicken steaks, while Moroccan chicken steak gets a contrast of flavors. Carrying with work the marinade and the sauce:

Saltiness of preserved lemon or acid from citrus juice.

Spice from cayenne or paprika.

Medium sweetness typically honeys, dried fruits (e.g. apricots) or other sweet spices (cinnamon)

This triple-threat profile fuels the energy and balanced savoriness, zest, and warmth of every bite.

The Signature Sauces

Chicken Steaks are typically served floating in a lake of thick brown gravies or glistening garlic butter or even drowning in a mushroom sauce. If you are unfamiliar, Moroccan chicken steak is mainly stirring fry and served in two methods:

Creamy spicy red sauce contains cream, tomato paste, garlic & sambal (or any kind of chili paste), spiciness is low after the table but still hot.

Herb & Citrus Pan Glaze: A lemony, reduction of olive oil — a lighter version that still shows off the char from grilling the breast. Finishing it with fresh coriander in addition to garlic and citrus.

Cooking Method & Meat Preparation

Regular steaks are rapidly prepared if seared, that is the reason legitimate Moroccan chicken steak has been beaten appropriately median with long get ready of 1 day to obtain wild sweet flavors. In most cases you would grill or pan sear it to create a crispy crust keeping the meat juicy throughout.
